THE DALEK INVASION OF EARTH DVD

For the DVD release of the Dalek Invasion of Earth an option was included to view the programme with alternative effects sequences.

Ensuring that the replacement effects had a suitably 'retro' feel, photography of actual London landmarks such as Trafalgar Square and Battersea Power Station was combined with blue screen model photography to create digital matte painting backgrounds. Smoke elements and digitally generated saucers were them composited into the final shots.
