Channel 4/Discovery

For Channel 4's Raging Planet series we provided a number of sequences over three programmes - each dealing with a different natural disaster. For the tidal wave episode we had to recreate the effect of a tsunami hitting the Japanese fishing village of Hilo.

A 1/6 scale breakaway model of a typical wooden building was constructed and placed in the path of two dump tanks. Unlike many of our destructive effects sequences we only had one attempt at this particular shot.
