EGYPT'S GOLDEN EMPIRE
BBC2
Production problems in
Egypt, where local authorities refused the film crew permission to
turn of the strip lights that had been installed for tourists,
resulted in the construction of a 1/3 scale model of the Temple of
Amun.
Whilst the back wall and plinth were sculpted out of insulation
foam, the pillars lining the tomb were made of plaster,
cast from
silicone moulds, and were, in fact, only two sided.
The statue
was a cast resin sculpture, covered in gold leaf. |
